The surfaces of objects can be fastened by gluing, welding, screwing, riveting, or, in this case: by interference-fit joinery.
In the case of welding, preparation (creating a groove for concealment) and/or post-processing (grinding flush) are inevitably required. Furthermore, with steel sheets, discoloration due to heat effects must be expected. While this phenomenon can be used intentionally as a decorative element for certain objects, in this instance, the concept was to visually hide the joints so that no other effect would distract from the purity of the form.
The contours required for the joints are integrated into both the flat panels and the leg in such a way that they remain invisible after assembly.
