Sonkamester Ham Stand

Our designer’s father is László Árpás, the Sonkamester (Master of Ham).
After co-creating numerous decorative objects with Renátó, the idea arose to move beyond wall decorations and room dividers. We wanted to craft an object that his father could proudly use for storing dry-cured hams and for presenting them to guests in a worthy manner.

Upon receiving the first sketches, we immediately sensed that a truly exciting object was about to be born. The harmony of the stainless steel clamping arms and the wide, heavy base plate—complemented by wooden handles symbolizing hooves—embraces and frames the ham, which offers a fantastic culinary experience.

Following continuous fine-tuning of the prototype (such as adjusting the length of the holding pins) and replacing the laser engraving with fine hand-engraving by an artisan, the holder also received a wooden storage box tailored to its environment.
You can read about the presentation of the storage box made for the Ham Holder prototype in our blog post below:

The Ham Holder will soon be available with a choice of surface finishes. You can read about the sample plate collection created to showcase these options in the blog post below:

Once the surface finish for the base plate was selected, production of the first series and the boxing of the finished products could begin. You can read more about this process in our blog post:
